Screening - National Programme for Early Detection of Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disorders

Parents who have children aged 1 to 3 years are encouraged to seek screening application in the family doctor's office, during the mandatory medical examinations at 12, 16, 18, 24 and 36 months.

The Screening questionnaire, approved since 2014 by order of the Ministry of Health, enables identification of the first symptoms of autism spectrum disorders, meant to guide the parent towards a specialist.

The screening has 9 questions, and is applied free of charge by the family doctor, it takes between 5 and 10 minutes and may help the parent realize very early if the child can develop or has already developed this kind of delay. If you get a score above 10, indicating that we can speak of ASD, the doctor will direct you toward a psychiatrist.
